These homeowners with young children were missing a much needed family room, and were living with failing appliances in a small, outdated pink (yes, pink) kitchen.  With an addition on the horizon, we set about reconfiguring the kitchen to integrate with the new space and to include much needed storage and a breakfast room. The final design features: arched openings between the family room and kitchen with flanking bookcases, a center pass through island with seating in the family room, integrated appliances, wine storage, custom handmade tile backsplash, and a built in hutch in the breakfast room.
